High blood sugar without being diabetic?

About 6 weeks ago I started doing a cleanse diet which composed of about 90% fruits. I did this diet for about 3 weeks and felt great at first, but I started developing weird symptoms. I started feeling panicky, nauseous, and like my face was numb and fuzzy. I've returned to a more balanced diet, but I'm still experiencing the facial numbness. I was tested for hypoglycemia and diabetes a few months ago and everything was normal. Is it possible that I have to much blood sugar circulating without being diabetic? Is it possible that I developed some kind of blood sugar problem during this time?

Re: High blood sugar without being diabetic?

Hi, it's been several months since you posted this. How are you doing? It sounds to me like you did have some detoxification side effects from a juice detox. You can get yourself in deep trouble with your sugar if you're not aware of what you're doing and not under doctor supervision. Many people don't realize that a juicing detox makes your body use fat for fuel instead of carbs. You could also have had an allergic reaction to the fruits and enzymes. The juice detox can also make you dehydrated and you need electrolytes to keep your pH balance stable. The feelings of panic is a low blood sugar and nausea is the high blood sugar. You can get nausea from the detox when your body starts producing ketones, the burning of fat for fuel. You'll feel like you have the flu and you'll be throwing up. It's very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. I don't know what to tell you about the facial numbness. It could be nerve related.
