I got on some new diabetes medication and I've seemed to put on a few pounds. I've been a type 2 diabetic since I was 13. (Steroids and Cushing's from respiratory issues) I was taking Metformin, Levemir, and Novolog pens. 20 units of Levemir in the morning and 10 units of Novolog with meals. Long story short, the Metformin was tearing my stomach up and I got put on 4mg of Amaryl in the morning. My Novolog pen was switched to a vial of Humalog due to insurance coverage. The Levemir was switched to Lantus. I've managed my diabetes very well over the years and I eat the same diet I was on. (It's a diet plan straight from an endo, and it also helped me lose weight.

Can these new meds cause any weight gain? I've heard Amaryl isn't necessarily supposed to, but it can. What about Lantus and Humalog?
