Exclamation High Blood sugar - body attacking insulin injections

So since November my dad has been suffering from high (300-500) blood sugar, he has had diabetes since he was in his 30's. The doctors say his body is attacking the insulin because they think it is a foreign object. The doctors no longer know what to do and are sending him to a research hospital for help. Does anyone know anything about this or have had experience with something similar?? Im worried that this is going to kill him...
