Cool I think found the perfect food...

I think I've found the perfect food:
High fiber tortillas. I found one kind, available at Trader Joe's in L.A. area, which has a whopping 9 grams of fiber in each tortilla, and they are very tasty... almost as tasty as the low fiber ones. They also have almost no fat, and they have no cholesterol, and are low calorie too.

If you combine them with some salsa, which also has no fat and no cholesterol and is reasonably good in the fiber area, it's a great combination.

Does anyone else have any suggestions for foods this perfect, or close to it?

My goal is weight loss, and reducing cholesterol.

Re: I think found the perfect food...

please start eating ground flax seed daily. i think the flax seed is the closest thing we have to a perfect food on the planet. it's benefits have been just short of miraculous for me. i'm off antidepressants, anti-anxiety meds, allergy and asthma meds reduced 90%, i don't feel cold any more[serious problem for over ten years] my exercise capacity increased 33% to 50%. i only started eating 1/2 cup of ground flax seeds with oatmeal on june 21, 2004. i felt my mental and physical energy rise on june 23. i reduced allergy and asthma meds next day, stopped antidepressants on july 1. so far so good. i feel great. good luck.

Re: I think found the perfect food...

i buy mine at the fred meyer nutrition center for 89 cents a pound. fred meyer may be kroger depending on where you live. you may have to buy it at health food store, specialty store or online. buy the whole seeds and grind them yourself. only grind what you will eat that day. i use a coffee grinder. works great. the already ground seed costs almost five dollars a pound around here. measuring it and grinding yourself only takes about a minute. i eat a half cup a day now, but i started with only one tbsp until i got used to it. good luck.

Great list. If you don't mind, I'd like to add chickpeas to your list.

Do you eat it plain out out of the tablespoon and what does it taste like?

Re: I think found the perfect food...

I agree that flax seeds is up there in the top foods list. I started eating about 4 tbs a day (I grind the whole seeds every morning and add them to my smoothie) a week ago. I've noticed a difference in my skin so far. I seriously do not have to use any lotion or moisturizer anymore. And that is a first for me lol. I use to always have dry flaky skin all over. I do not have an itchy scalp anymore either. I'm sure it's benefiting me in other ways too.
