| Re: Grape juice...any benefits?
The flavanoids in purple grape juice have been shown to prevent the oxidation of LDL cholesterol (the bad kind). For improved cardiovascular health it is recommended that you drink a glass of purple grape juice each day (peraps instead of your morning orange juice).
On the other hand, regardless of the fact that grape juice contains natural sugar, it is still sugar, and quite concentrated. Sugar from fruit juice is absorbed into the bloodstream very quicklly - for many people this results in a very rapid spike in blood glucose which can lead to a variety of problems. To avoid these problems you may need to dilute the juice with 50% water, although I don't know if this could possibly negate any intended benefit.
