my question is are these bad, i mean eating them almost everyday..especially the potatoes..mm..are these good carbs aswell..i know they are very starchy..

Re: Potatos & Corn

Potatoes, especially with the skin on, are actually very nutritious. As is corn, for that matter. The only bad thing about having them everyday is that you may not get all the nutrients provided by other foods. Basically, it is healthy, but you MAY want to have like...brown rice one day instead of potatoes....even if you dont, it really is ok.

Starchy foods dont really matter unless you are counting carbs, which to me is a dumb thing to do because its not the carbs, but the calories that matter.

Re: Potatos & Corn

thanks girly..i eat all the vegetables you can think of and, all the fruits aswell..but, potatoes i really love, i eat em simple just with sea salt..and, of course i also eat my Uncle bens whole grain rice..yum. I love rice cuz the recipes are endless with it..and, very nutricious..very good for your digestive tract.. I also have pasta once a week (corn or rice)..don't like it that much but, its a quick supper..heh

Losec,

If your weight is where you want it, enjoy the potatoes and corn.

Something akin to 'if it aint broke, don't fix it' - if you're eating your potatoes and corn and you're happy with your weight and health then just leave well enough alone At least that was MY take on it, and I agree.

No, potatoes are not fattening. 1 potato has 0.5 grams of fat. Its the pounds of butter that people put on them that make it fattening. Dont listen to the atkins people that tell you that its bad for you. Eat your corn and potatoes and enjoy them.

Everything too much is bad for you. Eat in moderation

Re: Potatos & Corn

no offense meant, but how can you eat veal? those poor baby animals are so sickly they can't even walk and some can't even stand up by the time they're killed for food. injesting the body of an animal that was that tortured, anemic and sick just doesn't seem like it could be healthy to me.

Re: Potatos & Corn

Veal isnt bad FOR you necessarily, its just some people refuse to eat it because its a baby, and they usually keep them in cages so their muscles dont build up (for more tender meat).

Re: Potatos & Corn

Hey Losec, if you are celiac or as me allergic to majority of things.. you have cut so much out of your diet that potatoes and corn are just fine to eat. You have to get your vitamins and nutrients from somewhere right? Enjoy eating without getting sick
