Diet during recovery of broken bones
My husband broke his ankle at several places and has to stay off his feet for several weeks. I make sure that he eats healthy; lots of veggies, fruit, lean meat, fish, complex carbs, etc along with plenty of fluids. I was wondering if he needs more of a certain food group (for instance proteins) now that his body needs to mend itself. I also give him vitamins, especially calcium tablets also glucosmaine chondrt. Any ideas? TIA.
