Anyone know the health benefits of Stevia (besides the minimal calorie and sugarless factors)?

I think any claims of the health benefits are overblown by the manufacturers to sell the stuff.
It's an expensive sweetner substitute whose main benefit is that it isn't sugar.

I think the main benefit is that it is naturally derived from the stevia plant and isn't loaded with chemicals compared to other sweeteners.
