eating 5-6 meals a day roughly every 3 hours is very good. these meals do not have to be full blown gourmet occasions. simple things like chicken and sweet potato, can of tuna and walnuts, etc
protein: chicken, fish, turkey, lean red meat, milk, eggs, cottage cheese
carbs: sweet potato or yams, brown rice, veggies, oats, fruits, whole grain bread, cereals and pastas
fats: nuts, olive oil, flax seeds, natty peanut butter
before bed is a great time to do something like cottage cheese and peanut butter. cottage cheese contains casein protein which your body absorbs slowly plus the body digests good fats slowly also. important cause when you sleep you'll be going a few hours without eating.
