Protein Shakes

I never have been much of a breakfast person. Never could eat first thing in the morning. I have been reading alot about protein shakes and was wondering were are good places to purchase the protein powder and also a good brand. Looking for one with "decent" taste and low carb. Thanks for any info.

Re: Protein Shakes

Any Health Food store (GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, Puritan Pride, etc.) has virtually pure protein powder (choice of soy or whey) between $6 and $9 per pound. The amino acid structures are very for price.
To get the shake tasting good, just add things like cocoa<pure, sugarless>, fruit, vanilla, flavor extracts, artificial sweetner. Thicken with egg or vegetable thickeners like xanthan or guar gum. More protein if you use skim milk, fewer calories with ice water.
Choices are endless.

Re: Protein Shakes

I have 2 protein shakes a day. I recommend Naturade 100% Whey. I use the vanilla flavor. It has only 1 gram of carbs and no sugar, artificial sweeteners or fructose, etc. 2 scoops are only 80 calories. I like to add 8oz Vanilla Nut teccinno herb coffe subsitute, cinnamon, 1 tsp Stevia Plus, 1 oz Knudsen Just Cranberry, and 1 TBS Flax Oil. I either mix this in my smoothie machine with crushed ice or I blend this all together and then add crushed ice to it. This is great in the morning and as an afternoon pick me up.
