Very confuzed about nutrition labels, please help!
I just dont understand, the nutrition you see on the label is for one serving, right? Then how come on, for example, the lettuce in a bag we get says serving size- 75 grams. Then on the label it says fat 0 carbs 4 protein 1. That adds up to five grams. Whats up with that? Is the other 70 grams in a serving all water or somthing?
Thanks, Sam

Well it is based on density, like grams is based on how much it weighs so, I dunno, maybe it is water. I'd like to see what others say.

According to nutritiondata’s web site, one leaf weighs 39g.
Of that, 37.3 grams are from water with the remainder being made up of nutrients (carbs, fat, protein, vitamins, minerals, etc.).
Never thought about it. Good question!

Sameesh...it's water and insoluble fiber; neither of which has any impact on our food intake.
