Smile Perricone diet

Has anyone tried this? More for reducing inflammation in the body which Dr. Perricone feels is the source for aging and disease. Weight loss ia a benefit. I'm thinking about buying the book- any feedback appreciated.

Yes, I watched a show on tv about his phiosophy on having good skin and ways to prevent aging. He advocates a lot of berries, cantelope, some green tea, CLA(for weight loss), and omega 3's like salmon and walnuts, oh and tons of greens and water. I remember watching it but I didn't buy his book cause I consume that stuff he mentioned except CLA because it's in many of the foods we eat and I read negative things about synthetic forms of CLA. I believe he is a dermatologist.

Yes, I'm okay today...read my new thread! CLA is...ummmm..some kind of protein, aminio acid, or something in red meat and other foods. I can't remember exactly but when I do my search about spelt bread, I'll look that up again too.

Re: Perricone diet

I actually did buy his book and it makes a lot of sense.

Regarding his diet...it can't really hurt. I have very loosely followed many of his sugestions and my skin has cleared. But, I'm eating healthier in general so it might be that.

He does have recipes; some are simple but many have extensive ingredients - many of which are quite expensive and involve a lot of preparation But, maybe thats just cookbooks in general. I haven't even tried any of his recipes yet. Also, many of the recipes serve 4-6 so theres lots of converting going on!!

Maybe I shouldn't be so unenthused about the recipes until I actually try them - they might be really good.

But, I did enjoy the book and learned a bit of stuff. And you never can learn too much, right?!
