OK, we all know I'm weird by now. So I love canned sardines. The stinky little fishies are so yummy on sandwiches, and I've been eating them like every day. Does anybody know the story on these regarding mercury content? (My cat doesn't think I'm weird.)
Mercury becomes a problem higher up on the food chain. The little sardines being near the bottom of the chain don't accumulate as much as larger fish like swordfish that eat...Sardines!
I guess 'cause I'm a sardine head. No, I just can't do anthing in moderation. Like coffee. Can't just have one cup, gotta have a whole pot, then another. It's a personality trait of mine. But after yesterday, I won't be eating them for a while...they made me a bit sick. Bleh.
In the sardines? I ate one can of them in hot sauce for lunch, then at night I had another can of them in the mustard sauce... Think my stomach was just not ready for all those fish...
hmmm, its not the fish, its the sauces you ate em with.. .. when I eat sardines I just get the ones in water/salt.. and, I eat em with bread..somtimes ill throw them in salad..with onions, wine vinegar, seasalt, simple stuff like that..
get the ones in water/salt next time..there are to many chemicals in the other ones, so stay away from those.. ok bye
Sardines are good. But when they're canned loaded with sodium and fat. But they really are yummy especially when they're fresh outta da water...delicious.
I also love sardines, although I don't eat them every day, but maybe once or twice a week. My favorite brand is Season "low sodium" in pure olive oil. I wouldn't worry about eating sardines. They are very high in omega-3 fatty acids.
