Today I found out that I have very high cholesterol (thru a Health Fair). I will get in touch with my doctor but have decided to read up on everything I can in order to get this under control.
Several months ago I read some info about Flexseed Oil helping to lower cholesterol. I found some at a Health Food Store and purchased them. I have to admit that until recently I really didn't take them much. However at two weeks ago I decided they were not doing any good just sitting there.
I have read several posts that had to do with different types of Flaxseed but none that really addressed the capsules and also no mention of it being a cholesterol lowering aide. Does anyone have any info on this?
I'm just now (in my older age) really deciding that I have to do something about my eating habits. Hopefully it isn't too late and I can MAYBE undo some damage.
Any help would be appreciated. |
Why don't you look into whole flaxseeds and grind them yourself. You have to grind them in a coffee grinder so that your body can assimilate the omega 3's when consuming. You can find flax at your local healthfood store and the stuff is very cheap costing around $1.39 a pound!

Also, flaxseeds are high in fiber which have a positive effect on lowering cholesterol.
