i need to gain as u all know, and i guess nuts are super good and healthy! its just i dunno how much to eat as a snack. they are really really really fatty and i dont wanna overdo it, but how much is enuf? peanuts usually have 2 nuts in each shell, so if i had 5 of those i had 10 nuts? im not 2 shure...i love em tho!
If you can stop at 5 peanuts (for a total of 10 beans) my hat's off to you. For me that's just the APPETIZER, and the entre is a half jar, so I try to avoid them.
At 5 peanuts a day, eat them every day of your life and they won't give you any problems...unless you are one of the few people on Earth for whom peanuts are a deadly poison...yep, no joke!
1/4 cup is one serving. Why are you worried about them when you're trying to gain weight? There are nuts that are supposed to help raise HDL and lower LDL. Those nuts are pecans, almonds, and walnuts.
I dont think you need to stop after 5 peanuts...grab a handful, or like some posters said 1/4 cup or so, and munch on! You ARE trying to gain, and the fats in them aren't all bad. Even better, try almond or walnuts for really healthy fats (and you dont have to count those!)
most people go overboard on one serving when it comes to eating any type of nuts without even knowing it. However, like others said, almonds, walnuts and cashews are better options. Peanuts are still very good for you and probably the best tasting out of them all. In my opinion anyway.
They say 1 tablespoon of peanut butter is enough but I'm not sure about peanuts. I do know that they say eat 10 raw almonds a diet to get enough protein.
