Re: Green Tea and Garlic: Superfoods!!

Also, where is the best place to buy green tea and which is the best way to sweeten it? With honey, perhaps?

The Len,
I tend to really like and enjoy your threads, but on this particular issue, I must respectfully disagree with you. Why do I have to eat as much garlic and drink as much green tea as possible? I see that both have wonderful benefits, but how much is too much? They say that too much of a good thing can do more harm than good. Though, I must tell you, I have been getting into drinking more green tea as of late .

Tell me, is the Arizona brand of green tea as healthy as green teas you brew from tea packets/tea leaves? Which brand/form of green tea is healthiest in your opinion? What type/brand of garlic supplement is best in your opinion? Perhaps using real garlic would be my best bet. I love garlic.

I enjoy a few cups of green tea every morning. I use a powdered green tea extract from beyondacentury. It's easy to make, no messing with tea packets, and I think its more beneficial.

They say about 5 to 6 cups of green tea a day for the maximum benefit. As far as garlic....just two cloves a day is good enough to maintain a good immune system.

You can buy green tea anywhere. Supermarkets and health food stores alike. I personally get the "Yogi Tea Green Tea Superantioxidant". Great taste and packed with antioxidants aside from green tea alone. Best to drink green tea alone. Sweetners can interfere with the maximum absorption of it's nutrients. If I had to go with any one of them, I would go with only a teaspoon of honey. But try drinking it plain. You get the most from it that way.

I thought the post I created was pretty much self-explanatory. The health benefits are enormous of each.

Very good. You can never drink "too much" green tea. LOL As far as the garlic, you don't have to eat it straight. you can always mix it in with a variety of dishes. It's a very versatile herb.

No it isn't. To gain the maximum health benefits, green tea must have hot water poured on it. The heat releases the nutrients. Make sure it's not too hot though. Boiling water can kill the nutrients. Arizona green tea is like a healthy soft drink. I would get the regular green tea that you pour hot water on then drink. Every 8 oz. water to one tea bag. So if you want to take green tea with you, use a coffee maker for best results. Just don't put any coffee in it obviously. Fill up the pot as far as it will go with water and just put in two tea bags after it's all done. Let it sit. Once the heating process takes place, it can cool and then you can reap the benefits of the tea. But it must go through the heat first.

I personally like Yogi Tea Green Tea Superantioxidant the best. Fresh garlic is more powerful than any pills. But if you want to go with pills, I would go with "Garlinase 4000".
