Optimum Nutrition (ON) 100% Whey Protein Powder (chocolate) is delicious. Whey, as I understand, is also better than soy because it is more easily digested by the body (additionally, I've found soy to be a bit controversial: some believe it's a miraculous nutritional giant, others a fattening tool used in some government ploy). Anyway, this ON powder is really very tasty and relatively inexpensive (I buy mine online).
I like Vitamin Shoppe 100% Soy Protein. I find the WHEY has a gritty tooth feel that I don't like. The taste is fairly neutral but not what anyone could call GOOD...but it is easily masked with vanilla extract, cocoa powder or a banana.
Makes a nice shake with some thickener like xanthan gum (or guar.)
Amino acid structure of Soy and Whey are very similar, so buy for taste and price.
i have tried a Whey Protein shake called "whey 2 go" in the chocolate flavor. i put a banana in with it and then stick it in the freezer to get icy cold. it's tastier that way.
The whey protein clear liquid is derived from making cheese. It is taste less but all makers add to it to make it a powder.
The flavored type are all OK.
There is alot of controverse about the harmones in soy but I don't know about soy protein.
My favorite for many years has been Designer Protein. I've tried many and this one tastes the best. It's made from whey protein and the strawberry is so good.
My absolute favorite is the Fat Flush Whey Protein, vanilla or chocolate, by UniKey Health Systems. It has no additives and is sweetened with steviaplus. It's also lactose-free.
What flavor do you all find to be the best? Personally, I always get strawberry and really like it. I would like to try a new flavor but im worried I'll despise the taste and lose money considering I always buy the big 5 lb. tubs.

Well i'v tried the strawberry isopure and the chocolate and i find that the chocolate is wayy better.
I had been buying 100% Soy Protein (26 grams protein per ounce.) I need to buy again and I noticed that I was paying $8.97 for 16.9 ounces...I THOUGHT I was paying around $6.
So I'm searching out something cheaper--- I found something called EAS Easy Advantage Whey Protein (they had only chocolate). It's less protein (22 grams per ounce) but not MUCH less. Thing is they sell a HUGE 6 pound cylinder of this stuff for $23.99 or $4 a pound...THAT'S cheap.
Has anyone tried this stuff. I HATE to buy 6 pounds and find out that I don't like it after my first shake! Comments appreciated.

I saw the same exact thing but decided to pass on it since I still have some whey protein left. Let me know how it tastes, you can be the guinea pig.

HI,
This is for you too Lenin,
I bought EAS whey protein from vita cost, the chocolate kind, and it tastes great! NOt too sugary, and it's high quality. I usually throw some flax and fish oil(carlson's) in there and have it for lunch. Btw, I use soy milk as the solvent instead of milk to get the soy benefits in combination with whey benefits. I love it!
Well, I was the guinea pig, but the SSSLLLOOOOWWW guinea pig. I read last week in a muscle mag that EAS was taken over but one of the major pharmaceutical companies...but I forget which.
My first thought was "there goes the good deal"...I diddled around for a week and went over to BJ's today. My worst fear...the 6 pound containers are gone. All that were left were the 2-packs of the one pounders for $13.99...
hit man
Check your store and see if there are any left!

Will do Lenin, I sure hope they are still there. I will be very mad at myself if there aren't any left.
Jessica,
I searched bjs site in the hope of finding it one of their other stores (I don't think they do mail order.) Unfortunately the only thing even listed for EAS products is a line of "candy" bar food supplements!
I'll try to find out something from the store manager, though usually talking to ANYONE at BJ's is akin to talking to a cinder block!
