I am 5'5, and yesterday morning I weighed myself, and the scale said 113.5. I weighed 135 in december, but I decided to lose some weight, and I did healthfully. When I weighed 135, I would binge a lot though, partly because my meals were so little because I was always trying to lose weight. I eat around 1800-2000 calories a day, and never deprive myself of anything. Is it this a healthy weight for me? I am quite active, in the gym or excercising about 4 times a week. I eat extremely healthy, and I have enough energy so if anything, I think I am healthier mentally and physically than when I was 135. I lost my dad last month, so my main focus now is being healthy, which I am, but i just would like everyone's opinion here.
What is your body frame? Small, med. lg??? Do you have alot of muscle? If you are a small frame...then 113 on 5"5 seems fine. I never go by the charts...that tell you how much you should weigh according to your height. Everyone is built diffrently. I am also 5"5......"the chart" says i can weigh up to 145lbs!!!! Um, no way....i feel fat at that much! I do not weigh myself....i just go by how my clothes fit. The # thing-------makes me nuts!!!! It's better if i dont know. Right now im not hapy with my weight.....i've put on some from quitting smoking....Anywayz, that's a whole different story! Are you comfortable at 113? If you are, then dont worry! Especially if you have energy, your eating right etc.

You're eating a good number of cals and eating healthy so that's great. I'm 5'1" and 100 lbs. I still need to gain 5 more. Like princess said, it really depends on your frame and how you're built. Do YOU think you're too thin? Do others say you are too thin? If that's the case then you may be and it wouldn't hurt to gain a little weight.
I think all is well. Eating 1800-2000 calories a day and maintaining 113.5 sounds healthy, attractive and LUCKY. Your metabolism is a high one and for that you can be grateful every day.
Keep up the good work.
I feel fabulous at this weight. I do have a tiny frame, my hands are so small that my 9 year old cousin has bigger hands than me! I feel fine at this weight, but then when I see people, they try to lecture me on anorexia and bulimia...which makes me upset because i EAT! But I eat good food though! I wish people could see that but I'm not going to go out of my way to prove anything. When I was 135, it was too much for me because yes, I do have a small frame. I strength train now 2-3 times a week with 1-2 times cardio, I am feeling better than I ever have, with confidence, but it is just hard to appreciate how far I have come with people constantly telling me how i should eat, blah blah blah. When my mom was my age, she was about my weight too, so i guess this is a healthy weight for me.
Hey as long as you feel good. Do people make comments to you like "Your looking way too thin." I remember when I was in high school, I dropped down to 115 pounds at 5ft6 and a half and people were saying "You look way to thin." That's all I needed to hear and gained some more weight. I hated when people told me I was too thin. So, if you feel good, then keep it up!
It sounds like you weren't comfortable in Dec. at 135..so if you feel good about your size now then that's what is important. Sometimes it takes other people longer than ourselves to adjust to our new size or weight. If you are eating healthy food and enough (it sounds like you are...1800-2000 cal. per day...i'm jealous!) then i wouldn't worry. Your keeping a good fitness plan too so that's geat..your body will be stronger and the pay off is good health. I lost some weight over the past 4 months and i was very carefull and didn't do anything that would hurt my body..(other then sneak in the odd treat!..lol) i have also been doing cardio and strenght training...and yet the first question people ask me is ..are you eating..they just don't get that you can be healthy and lose the fat. We know otherwise. Best of luck..your weights will help tone your body and will add a healthy look to your body. Don't worry about the scale or others..listen to your body!
I dont think you are too thin. You seem very happy and comfortable at this weight. Just make sure you are eating enough to maintain and remain healthy. Good for you for feeling positive about your self
I actually havent got it since december... but i know my body has to adapt to this new weight though. I dont know why I am not getting it, since I am definitely eating enough.

Well then yes you are underweight and I suggest that you go up to at LEAST 120 pounds.(like girly said) Not to sound like I'm being mean or anything, but if you aren't menstrating then, in my opinion, that's very bad,and your body is telling you something! You don't want take the chances of not reproducing in the future do you??? How old are you? If your a young teen then alot of times teens don't have a regular period but since December, hmmm, I don't know but yeah, i'd gain weight. Just my opinion.
If you're not getting your period that means you're underweight (usually). I lost my period when I was anorexic and had a REALLY hard time getting it back. So please be careful!
What do you think about not having your period? You don't want to be "infertile" do you? You said that you thought it was because your body needed to "adjust" to the new weight....well it very well could be but in all likelyhood, I think it's your body telling you something. Your period will probably return when you gain weight. How long have you been at this weight??
Jess, I do eat 1800-2000 calories a day though. I eat very healthy, what I eat is good for me though, I dont understand how this can be unhealthy, I know not having a period for 6 months isnt good, but I feel great mentally and physically, and before I was so insecure, if anything I think I am better than I was before. I'm afraid If I get to 120, I'll start to feel insecure again, idk.
I too feel good at my weight but I'm not having periods either. My doctor told me I needed to gain some more weight to get it back. So I'm going to. I just want to be healthy and not focus so much on being "thin". Don't get me wrong I still want to look good but I want to be healthy too which right now I'm not. If you're not having periods then your body is telling you something is wrong...meaning you ARE too thin. My doctor told me body fat actually plays a big role in regulating your periods and if you don't have enough of it then your periods will stop. So my advice would be to try and gain a little more weight because not having your period for an extended amount of time is really unhealthy.

Do you REALLY eat that much for you weight? Maybe you should get yourself checked for hyperthyroid or something. I don't know if losing your period is related to your thyroid but it's worth a thought? Maybe a try?
