My doctor told me it is safe to take b-vitamin complexes several times a day, but I am not too sure because I have heard that too many B vits can be bad for you? I know the B-complexes already have like 1000% more than the daily recommened intake and more than is ususally in a multi vitamin. I do suffer from fatigue and depression...is a good high potency b vitamin a good idea?
I have a nutrition book and it says there is no known toxicity of any of the B vitamins but prolonged ingestion of large doses of any one of the B-complex vitamins may result in high urinary losses of other B vitamins. Therefore it is important to take a complete B complex with any single B vitamin. So basically you need to take high doses of them all otherwise one will destroy the other.
The B vitamins are water soluble so what the body does not use it just goes right out of the body in your urine. So that is why you need to take it several times a day. It gets flushed out of the body in hours.
