Good morning and a big welcome to our newest members Mike1221, BlueEyes, and Gymnut38.

Congrats to all of you for the weight loss and also for keeping it off!

Mike, I think I’ll incorporate one of your steps into my own program. Step #5 (I can’t wait).

If my knee holds up, today I’ll be doing a step & hi-impact class in the evening. I don’t know how I hurt it but it was during my step class on Tues. Strange, I was fine almost the entire hour of workout until the last 5 mins when we began our stretching exercises ???

Well, lost four lbs since sunday
my diets consists of 2200 cal to 2800 cal a day spaced out over 5-6 meals I also log everything I eat to make sure I am getting enough protein so muscles don't start to breakdown. I cannot stress enough how important weightlifting is when you are trying to lose body fat. This sunday I will take my Body fat % I hope it goes down. Oh by the way for all of you who have a hard time not eating sweets try being the owner of a full-line vending company my warehouse is full of every chocolate you can think of along with chips, ice cream and vending food. So if I can resist anyone can. Have a good day.

Mike1221,

You got me there. I'd be as big as the warehouse!!! Although, I do have to say that my very first job was working for Carvel Ice Cream. I used to love the stuff - now, I can't even walk into the place because of the way it smells. That certain smell was with me all the time - it was stuck in my hair and clothes all the time! YUCK!

I've decided that I'm going to concentrate on a weight program along with my running program. Don't know why this is a revelation to me only today - should've started long ago. Oh well.

Dave,

Maybe at some point we should start "Buddy Board II" if this one gets too long???

Just a thought.

I never thought i would, but it has happened. boy, it's the little things that get me going. thank you for the compliments all on my weight loss, and congrats to everyone on theirs. Has anyone ever tried replacing a meal with a smoothie? they are so good, and they are filling. i make my own. i use 1/2 cup of strawberries,1/2 cup of any flavor yogurt,1 cup of milk,1 banana, and a blender half full of ice. mix well, and enjoy!!!!!!
I hate yogurt, but eating it this way,you can't really taste just that.

CONGRATS MIKE1221 ON YOUR WEIGHTLOSS! EVERY POUND COUNTS! I TRULY BELIEVE THAT WEIGHT TRAINING IS GOOD WHEN YOU ARE LOSING ALSO, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING SINCE AUGUST. I WORKOUT WITH A TRAINER EVERY OTHER DAY. (IT IS REALLY CHEAP FOR ME, HE IS A FRIEND) I WAITED TILL I LOST ABOUT 60LBS BEFORE I JOINED THE GYM, THOUGH.
WELL, TIME TO CLEAN, HAVE A GOOD DAY ALL!

It's a gorgeous day!

I worked out this morning -- step class and lite weights. My workouts are starting to get easier (or I'm getting stronger). Haven't lost any weight yet, but my clothes are fitting better. My stamina is also better.

Still keeping to my diet, but over the weekend I did cheat a little. Had some pecan/caramel delights. Just couldn't resist, they were delicious!

Hello Everyone! It is great to read about everyone's weight losses! I'm new to this board but unfortunately I am all too familiar with dieting...I currently weigh 218 lbs and I have lost about 20 lbs since trying to diet again. It is hard getting back into the groove in losing weight. I am so happy to have found this support! I have a special congrats to Gymnut for getting below 200--that is my next goal! And, I would like to say congrats to everyone who is trying to lose weight--it sure isn't easy!
Best wishes, everyone, for a great coming week!

I really like this forum. Is there somewhere on these boards that are like a chat system? that would be cool so we could chat.
anyways, i need some support if anyone has anything to offer. I am 23, i am 5'6 or so and I want to lose 8 lbs. I have been eating healthy and dieting, and exercising since I could remember. I am not over weight. I weight about 133 or so but I want to lose my butt, and thighs and I want to weigh around 125 or so. I started taking some pills that suppress my appetite and I love it. I am a nurse in a large hospital and spend 8-12 hours running around on my feet all day so I am pretty active all day long. Anyways, I really like the suppressants because I think that is the only way I can actually lose the 8lbs. or so. Any advice or support would be great! Thanks!

Cool

I like this. This is good. I recently joined a women's exercise club called Curves for Women that consists of around 16 stations of resistance training machines, (no weight, just hydraulics like shock absorbers), and you spend exactly 30 seconds on each machine. In between each machine is an aerobics platform, so after your 30 seconds you do light aerobics, like running in place, dancing, ANYTHING for 30 seconds. You do 3 circuits of this and then a cool down stretch and your DONE! A great 30 minute workout! I've been going for about 3 weeks now and have lost 4 lbs and no telling how many inches and I haven't altered my eating habits. I've cut back on my serving sizes and also have been drinking more water. I'm determined to lose at least 75 lbs in a year. I figure if I'm paying for it, (not expensive really, 30.00 a month), I'm more apt to go so my money is not wasted. I love the workout because now I don't have to figure out what I'm going to do, how many reps or whatever, just 30 seconds and move on over to the next one. They have a cd playing that has a recorded voice and every 30 seconds she says, "move over", in a much nicer way though. And she also tells you to check your pulse every 10 minutes. Anyway, thanks for being there; I'll check in every now and then and let you know how I'm doing!

Hello my friends! I bet you thought I got lost or something! Well ..... not exactly, but as you can see, I have a "II" behind my name, and I am a "Newbe" right now .. for a while anyway. It seems that there was a mix up involving me and someone else posting here, and the moderators thought I was a "Professional Trainer" or something, and was advertising here. I have been writing back and forth with her, and she is trying to get me "unblocked" as quickly as she can.

Never-the-less ... I am here for now anyway.

How has everyone been? And I see we have some new visitors to our list of friends here. Let me say ... Welcome ... and post often. We like to hear your success stories .... and your praise for those others that have had success!

I better get ..... I just wanted to say Hi to everyone .... and talk to you all soon!

Hi all! I'm new to this buddy system and I'm hoping it will help me out. I'm a college student and was determined to keep off all the weight I lost this past summer (15 pounds). Unfortunately, I came back to school and so did the weight. I actually only gained back about 8 pounds but I feel terrible and I want to get back to the gym again, only time is a problem.

My hints for everyone out there...this past summer I did lose 15 pounds just doing tae-bo in my bedroom (the beginner tape) and about 25-30 minutes of walking/running, alternating every day and taking weekends off. I think my weight came back because I had to stop doing that when my vcr broke. I have to buy a new one.

I've always been chubby since I hit puberty, and I've been struggling for years to actually lose weight. This past summer was great, I actually got down to a size 4!! Just for comparison, earlier last year I was a size 11 (junior sizes). When I was 13, I was a 14. It was amazing. Now I'm a size 7 and would do anything to get back down to a 4 or even smaller. I want to be able to get my navel pierced before the summer hits, with nice abs. That's my goal.

Anyway, just sharing my story. I'll keep you guys up to date, thanks for listening!!

Hello all! thank you for the compliment Tamara, and congrats on your weightloss. Any amount of loss is an accomplishment. I am so happy now, because i lost another 3lbs. I have 31 more to go and i will be where i was when i met my husband 15yrs ago. I think it would be nice to have a chatroom where we could all talk to each other. I just found out from my nutritionist that those bars you can buy,you know, the meal replacements, balance,slimfast.....etc, are not too good for you. she told me they are just a sugar high, and a quick fix. That is a bummer.
I am starting a yoga class at the gym on saturday. I heard it is really relaxing, and the teacher told me she can help me breathe a lot better (i have had asthma since birth.)
Well, have a great day,and week everyone!!!!!!!

Hi, can someone tell me how many carbs and or cals would be in that smoothie recipe? thanks for your time in advance.
I was trying the atkins diet, however I have had a headache the whole 3 days so far, if it does not end I am going to try something else.

Yes ... yes ... yes ... I am finally un-blocked, and able to post under my original name! Cane you belive it? I was only blocked for a couple of weeks, but it seems like forever!

It's good to be back ... and it's good to see the new "buddies", along with reading about the success of some of the others.

Keep up the good work, this is the rough time of the year coming up, and we all have to remember that sweets are okay .. just in moderation!

Talk to you soon .......

Unhappy

hello all! the smoothie recipe i said, i know the strawberries have 9g of carbs,48 calories.....the yogurt (banilla) has 18g carbs,100 calories........1%milk has 13g carbs, and 110 calories. i forget the banana content.. hope this helps. I went the gym last night, and started heavy weight training instead of light,as i usually do. My knee is killing. I had surgery in June, and it felt great, almost 100%. My personal trainer told me i have to give up running,or give up weight training,so i think i'll give up running.. I'm hoping it is because i haven't really used my knee that it hurt last nite. I hate setbacks!!!!! Have a good day all, and remember...........even a loss of one pound is an accomplishment!

Gymnut,

Just wanted to say that Yoga DOES help someone with asthma. It's great to do because yoga concentrates on your breathing. Also, you won't believe that it actually works different muscles. There have been times when I woke up sore after a yoga workout. It's really a great form of exercise and relaxation. It did wonders for my asthma too.
