 GREAT BOOKS!
In Europe the cows are twitching in the field as is McDonald's stock. First we have E-Coli to worry about, how long will it be before Mad Cow Disease makes it into 'OUR' food chain? One case of this lethal disease would be considered an epidemic. 'Fast Food Nation' shows some the history and working conditions that could cause this to happen. Prompted me to go back and read 'The Jungle' by Upton Sinclair. Then I stumbled upon a little known book entitled 'Out To Lunch' by Walt Crocker. What an eye opener! This guy has lived it! He recounts over 20 years in the business and tells a sad, sometimes funny tale. I definitely wouldn't want some of the characters in this book preparing my next meal, or comng within 100 yards of me for that matter. I think that I will be visiting the organic food section of the supermarket a lot more in the future. When will the new administration check into the safety of our food supply? Do you feel safe feeding you're children this stuff?
