A lot of those measurements were calculated back in the '60s. I spent from highschool up to a few years ago thinking I was way overweight.
I am a very muscular 5'8" with 7 1/2" wrists, so 175 lbs. (at a size 13/14 misses) was actually my optimum weight, not the 150 prescribed for 5'8" on a large frame. My sister is the same height as me, but has a medium to large frame, and she looks great at 150 (at a size 9/10). She got down to 130 once and started to look sick and/or anorexic...

I just go by what the tape measure says because while most people's fingers are proportional to their frame, there are not measurements for "tall and skinny" or "short and stout". (This is the same problem I have with the BMI equation.) At least a tape measure is objective...
