Hi there!
I usually read the weightloss posts, but out of curiosity, I checked this one and saw that no one had responded to your note.
I am one of those people who has struggled with the last 10 pounds for years! I started low-carbing a few months ago, and finally lost 5 of the 10. Now I find myself on another plateau.... BUT - i have been abnormally tired, too. I went to the doc to have my thyroid tested today.....have you done that? When people struggle with weight, it doesn't hurt to get tested. Also, how active are you? I work out a lot and still struggle. For all I do, I should be about 90 pounds!
Anyhow, I did low fat, low calorie for years and it worked until lately. I think when you hit a plateau you have to switch around and give your bod a challenge. That includes exercise, as well. I'm 37, so it is getting harder to lose weight, which means I should probably increase my exercise, too.
In the beginning, I used Slimfast to drop a few pounds here and there, cabbage soup diet, pills, and anything else you can think of. Basically, I'd drop the weight, and it would come back as soon as I stopped whatever I was doing. I found that exercise was my savior. I walk, so I can do it all the time, anywhere. I have weight routines that I switch off on. It all helps. I know that I will never be "skinny", I just want to be healthy. I'm 5'8", and 145 pounds. I was 135 until I got really into a weight routine. Muscle is heavy.
If I were you, I'd skip gimmick diets, and if you really have trouble losing, have a thorough check up. I know it's hard to work out when you have little ones...been there. I would walk in the evening when my hubby got home when my son was small. Don't let anything stop you. You have to want it, I know this for sure! Let me hear from you.
