How much is too much? You should do some research about this from many sources, and then make a decision on how much fruit daily you would like to consume. Personally, I think four or five pieces of fruit daily is OK, but that's my opinion - and that is what works well with me.
For my diet, I just stay away from junk foods. In doing so, this allows me to eat natural (non-processed) foods. I don't count calories, fat grams, carbohydrates, or the number of fruits, etc. Some days I could have eight pieces of fruit. Another day, I might only have one or two. It depends.... With a balanced diet with these natural foods, and exercise, it has kept me very healthy - my weight is always under control too.
