Post Eating breakfast makes me ravenous all day

Does anyone else have this problem? I do much better watching what I eat and maintaining/losing weight when I skip breakfast. I've read all the studies about how people who eat breakfast are thinner, breakfast jumpstarts your metabolism, etc., but breakfast is the kiss of death for me. If I eat breakfast I have intense cravings all day. It doesn't matter if I eat cereal, a protein bar, fruit or eggs, I'm hungry again in an hour or less, and can't stop munching all day.

I am hungry when I first wake up, but I find that if I just start getting ready, the urge will subside and by lunchtime I'm still really not that hungry and can eat something small. But if I eat breakfast, I'm just watching the clock all morning, wondering if 10:00 is too early to eat lunch!

So, should I eat breakfast or not? (And does anyone know why this happens to me?)

I've been maintaining a 32 lb weightloss that I started last April. I also do not eat breakfast and it doesn't seem to bother me at all. It didnt' make my weightloss any harder. In fact, I think it is the very thing I needed to do.

I lost all my weight by eating 1200 calories a day. I didn't eat breakfast or lunch. I ate dinner and snacks the rest of the night. I just NEVER went over 1200 calories. I lost it all in about 16-18 weeks.

I like to eat snacks and I like to eat at night. It's fairly hard to eat over 1200 calories between 5pm and bedtime. I went from 156 in April to 124 today.

I find that you should go with your body. If you never eat breakfast or just don't want to, then don't. Personally, I like using the calories at night for snacks. So far, so good.

Good luck.

I think it is one of those individual things that don't get taken into consideration in all these studies. Personally, I'm the exact opposite and MUST eat breakfast. But I know many people who are like you.

Hello, Have you tried a small breakfast and a mid-morning snack to hold you off until lunch? For example: you could have 1 coffie and 1 or 2 slices of toast for breakfast, an apple or grapes for a 10:00AM snack, then have your lunch and super as usual. I would stay away from fruit that is high in acid like grapefruit, because that can make some people feel more hungry.
