Post How to eat more protein

Hi,
I have realized lately that I eat a ton of carbs and not much protein at all. I dont need to loose any weight, maybe 2 lbs, but want to be healthier. I like meat but only eat it a few times a week. I have been having salad at my work lately with a couple of hard boiled eggs. Are those enough protein daily?

A couple (that means 2?) of hard boiled eggs a day provides about 1/4 of the recommended amount of protein using the LOWEST recommendation.

Hello, You only need 10% protein in your diet unless you're planning on bulking your muscles up or you have a medical reason. Beans, nuts, and dairy products all contain protein.

Protein is extremely important!!!! A 130 pound woman should get AT LEAST 70g of protein a day. More if she weight trains. I would reccomend protein shakes. They are really easy, quick, and good for you. Have one or two a day plus your eggs and that will be MUCH better than what you are having now. It would be even better if you added chicken to your salad along with the egg. If you are worried about your calorie intake, protein is not high in calories at all. It is low fat too, if cooked that way. Well, I guess that's all I have to say...

EAT MORE PROTEIN!!!

yogurt, nuts, beans, soy, cheeses, fish, fowl, more eggs--there are SO many sources of protein other than meat.

of course, meat is a very valuable source. I suspect that your "few times per week" plus all these other sources of protein probably form a larger fraction of your diet than you've thought. If you had really only been getting the amount of protein in two eggs per day (about 15 grams if they are big eggs), you'd be quite ill by now.

I think maybe a little studying up on foods and nutrients is in order.
