to lose weight, u need to consume less calories than u use, so you could eat doritos and lose weight if u take in less than u need.
BUT if you eat doritos, those provide zero nutrition and won't fill you up so it's a bad choice.
good stuff:
fruits
veggies
oatmeal
cottage cheese
yogurt
fish
any lean meat
try not to eat processed stuff because those types of foods aren't filling: white bread, cereal bars, etc.
