Post I need help finding a good diet

Hey. I am 24 pounds over my ideal weight. I really need to get on a good diet. I want & need to loose weight. Can someone help me find a good diet or loose weight? Here is a profile about me:
-I am a teenager, but no longer growing.
-I cant spend money on a diet program.
-The only veggies I eat are corn, carrots, & lettuce.
-I have very bad eating habbits...overeat way too much.
-I am a very picky eater.
-I cant stay on most diets.
-I dont like sandwiches w/meat.
-I am a breakfast food addict.
-I get cravings at night time!!!!!
-I think about nutrition constantly, but dont apply it.
-I am active in sports & exercise.
-I do not want to go on a low-carb or hi-pro diet.
-I dont want to take diet pills.
-I dont want to count calories.
-My fav. food is icecream and I can never say no.
-I have tried almost every diet.
-My mom doesnt cook for me, so I will be able to
choose what I eat.
-I need a diet that allows me to go to fast-food.
-I hate salads.
-I do like fruit.
-Favorite foods:
Grilled cheese, pbj, icecream, chicken fingers, waffles, cearal, mac & cheese, grilled chicken, bread,
toasteanut butter, cinnnamon, cheese, or butter; pizza, bagel w/ cream cheese, crackers, & almost anything chocklate.
-I love the idea of drinking lotz of water.
-Must have dairy products.
-Wants results fast.
That would be soo awesome if someone could help me out and get me started on a good diet that is healthy but still allows me to loose weight fast. If I dont see results quickly, I am less likely to stay on it. Also, I tend to get obsessed with thinking about my diet. I need a diet that allows me to live a normal life w/out too much concentration of what I need to eat. Thanks a bunch!

There is an old adage that applies to you and your situation:

Anything worth having is worth working for. This, my friend, includes the lower body weight/better body composition you seek.

You are quick to put limitations on what you will or will not eat and in doing so you put limitations in place that WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ACHIEVING SUCCUESS.

You reached a point in your life where you need to re-think all your choices. You need to understand that unless you MAKE PERMANENT CHANGES IN YOUR EATING HABITS you will be bound, like so many that post here, to a lifetime of dieting then gaining in a never-ending cycle that with each change comes additional bodyweight.

I have no other advice for you as you set the ground rules and those rules indicate that you have heard it all before and have failed to apply it to your life. When you hit bottom, so to speak as I did at one point in my life, and the doctor's come to you and put your mortalilty into perspective so that you see it coming straight for you. Then you will make the changes necessary to live a life worth living.

You are young and have much to learn, I too was young and didn't heed the advice of those who had experienced life with weight management issues. Trust me, it is a hard lesson to learn.

"And the day came when the pain of hanging on was greater than the pain of letting go."

Good Luck

I sway to and from diets but the aim of a diet in my opinion is to actually change your life style not say what you will not change.
Thing is if you really mean to lose weight you will sacrifice mac n cheese each day to once in a while.
If you were to only have a mac n cheese and a diet coke all day you wouldn't gain.
be sensible
Wish I could get back on mine, damn having kids! lol xx

It's great that you are active! Exercise, especially walking, works for me by curbing my appetite and giving me the incentive to not eat as much. Can you invest in two 5-lb weights or borrow them from a friend? Doing some simple weight-training excercises just 3x a week will cause fat to turn to muscle -and muscle burns lots of fat. I know this to be true! If I stopped using my weights, I wouldn't be able to eat as much as I do.

Eating 5 or 6 small meals a day is much better than 3 huge ones, and drinking 8+ glasses of water per day works wonders and will help fill you up. Find a supportive person to cheer you on or to diet with you, or find a hobby to take your mind off eating. If you drink regular pop, switch to diet. I know a girl who lost 25 lbs by just switching from regular Mountain Dew to diet!! I have a cousin who lost 20 lbs by eating healthily during the day and then treating herself to one full cup of ice cream every night as her reward.

Just one small change can make a big difference!! You can do it! It's up to you -no one else can do it for you!!
