Post protein diet-- very discouraged-help!

What am I doing wrong? I am very sad,ready to just give up. I have just 11lbs. I need to lose, and this is just not working for me. I live off of canandian bacon,eggs,steak,cheese,macadamia nuts and an occasional Atkins protein bar. I am not losing,if anything I may have gained a couple of ponds.Please anyone,give me typical days menu that has worked for you.

A protein diet is the WORST way to lose weight! You need to do it the healthy way. Lots of fruits and veggies everyday! This may sound a little extreme, but I vary really eat meat or dairy, maybe once a week at most as a treat. Lots of fish and beans and soy for protein. AND whole wheat bread, pasta and rice! You should have some fruit, veggie, healthy protein and whole wheat at every meal if possible. Never eat less than 1200 calories a day. Drink tons of water!! I drink rice milk everyday~ yum! It has just as much calcium as milk. Fiber is your friend- shoot for about 25 grams a day if you can. (Apples have about 5 grams of fiber) It really fills you up and is super healthy.

I am 5'9 and 130 pounds. This diet helped me lose 35 pounds and have kept it off for 4 years. Good luck!

How much cheese are you eating, southern? Too much slows weight loss in quite a few people.

You don't mention any veggies, was than an oversight?

A high protein diet is not the worst--the research says its very effective and protective of non-fat tissue and organs.

BUT, if you want to do things this way, don't just dive in. It is worth getting the Atkins books, or Protein Power, or like that to learn how to do it right.

Still, I understand that no diet works for everyone, and you mayhave to try more than one form of eating regimen to find the one that suits you best. I think, though, that if you study up a bit, you may find a high protein diet works for you, as it has for me and many others.
