Question losing weight w/out cardio??

Hi,
I have been doing strict cardio for almost two years now and it has turned into a obsession. I feel bad an depressed when I take one day off and tend to blow off my friends and dates just so I don't miss working out. My question is this, if I quit cardio in all forms for a little while (2-3 weeks)just to get my life back do you think it is possiable not to gain weight if I kept my calorie limit at 1200 or close? I am 5'6 125lbs and 18% body fat. 24 yrs old.

THANKS!!!

Congratulation for realizing that your exercising has become an obsession. That's something that happens to a lot of people.
Now, I think that you are going from one extreme to the other. You don't really need to abandon (even for a few weeks) your work-outs in order to have a "normal" life. Everything is going to be confusing once you start exercising again. And you shouldn't exercise every single day (haven't you felt over-trained?). Just try to go somewhere in the middle.

I have to agree. Stopping working out is not the solution either. Nor is letting it consume you. Try working out 2 or 3 times a week.

If that feels too strange or is too hard then cut back your workout by one day. Then go from there.

Like others have said. Moderation. Cut back to 5 days a week.

I sure dont see you gaining weight on a 1200 calorie diet.
