Instant rice or old fashioned rice - Diet & Nutrition Message Board

Hi all,

Is there any benefit to old fashioned rice vs instant rice? Whenever I cook the old fashioned rice it always seems to come out really goohey. I'm likeing of the idea of the boil a bag rice, someone told me that it has some stuff on the outside that takes away the benfit of the rice? Anyone heard of this?

read the nutrition label and compare them.
the main things to look for is higher fiber,nutrients, and no fat should be added

the best rice is brown rice..not the instant kind.

NO RICE is my vote, unless you use brown rice that is not instant, or any of the other "whole grain" type rices. But even then if you are watching your weight my advice is to drop the rice or use it sparingly and very infrequently.
