All of us viewing these posts want to lose weight. There are so many fads and products on the market today vying for our dollars. Clever marketing strategies and hard selling techniques prey on our fragile psyches. Very few products or diets actually work.

There is a proven, safe, inexpensive way to lose weight. It is to simply eat less and exercise more! There is no quick fix. I am working on implementing this method in my daily routine.

Change only takes a second! The rest of the time is spent maintaining the change.

You are so right!!! I've found if you just cut out, or cut back, the things that put the weight on you you'll lose slowly but safely. My problem area is carbs. Especially ice cream. I'm like an insane person when I get around it. So, I just don't keep it in the house anymore.

You sound like a very smart person. But, or course, if you're from Chi town. (Me, too, originally - south side)

Unfortunatelly, i found that out the hard way, my $900 dollars for a doctor's prescribed diet medication was already down the drain. I tooks the meds for 2 weeks and lost only 4 pounds (and always starving). I stopped it and started eating healthy- less simple carbs, to more complex carbs and protein from mostlly chicken, fish and eggs (no yolk), i lost 5 pounds in 2 weeks (no starvation!!) I've since lost 25 pounds. For me it's a way of life and not a quick fix.
