Post Overeating.. late at night. How to stop it?

It seems late at night I raid the fridge! I am slowly gaining weight, how do I control my cravings late at night? (I eat a normal amount of food during the morning/day hours) Thank you!

Rach,
I think that, unfortunately, the foods that you eat late at night do get stored as fat. I'm wondering...do you get enough protein in your diet? I find that when I eat foods that contain at least some protien, they tend to stave off hunger better than foods that contain no protein (although, you need a combination of many kinds of foods to be healthy). Also, they help to build muscle .

Are you eating right before you go to bed? Are these middle of the night raids? If they are middle of the night raids, check and see what you are eating before you go to bed or within 3 hours before you go to bed. If you are eating carbs or high natural surgar items, this will cause you to wake up hungry in the night.

I agree with Izadpana.

it is probably what, and how much, you are eating for dinner that is causing these problems.

Make sure you have a balance of carbs and proteins and fats in your evening meal and as long as you're eating enough, you shouldn't get hungry.

Hello, Another idea is to keep your hands busy. Read a book or make something. Sometimes if you're busy, you just don't think about food, cravings, or how hungry you are.

I've also read that if you eat a sour or dill pickle, it will curb the cravings without adding much cals. at all.
