Lightbulb all-natural diet

I'm 20 and I'm very overweight. 180 for a body that should be 130-140. I have been trying to lose weight for a whole year and i started exercising like crazy...guess what, haven't lost a pound. I was thinking of going on an all-natural diet...fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, fish and lean cuts. Everything grilled, no extra sauces...a lot of fresh salads. No soda, no fast food...it's tough bc i was always REALLY skinny...i excersied all the time but ate whatever i wanted...i feel like im out of options...I was also thinking i should start taking a multi-vitamin...do you guys think this is a good idea?

Re: all-natural diet

Nothing Wrong with an All Natural Diet....But remember....even if you are eating all natural you will still not lose any weight if you are eating more calories then you burn.

A healthy diet is always a good idea. But don't expect yourself to go completely without a goodie now and then or you'll fail. Lifestyle change rather than diet is best approach and have patience. I didn't lose weight either for a year of effort which included some diet changes and exercise, but then it started to slowly kick in and I've been able to maintain it because I don't deprive myself but rather limit myself in the diet area more. I lift weights which has shaped me up but my lack of cardio is something I'm currently working on.

I used to be able to eat everything too and be skinny. That's the tough part, at least it was for me, to suddenly realize that won't work anymore

Re: all-natural diet

Before you do a diet overhaul, try writing down everything you eat on a typical day and how many calories. There are many websites that offer calorie counts for food. If you are taking in over 1600, I would drop that down. When you add up your calories make sure you include all condiments and beverages. I think you may be surprised how much you are consuming. This should be your first step. Pin down the problem before changin things.

Pipermac is write you need to burn more calories than you take in, so first determine how many calories you are eating. All the exercise in the world cannot make up for eating too many calories.

This is from experience. 3 months ago I went on an organic diet filled with lots of veggies some fruit and whole grains and very lean cuts of meat, fish, No red meat and mo dairy. I am down 2 sizes and still going strong. I do not count calories. I eat 5-6 small meals a day. No processed foods and no trans fats. I have already been a fitness buff for many many years excercising 5-6 days a week weights and cardio. I have incorporated some dairy but not much as I'm good without it. I thinks its a great idea what you have planned but it is truly a dediction. Good luck and keep us posted.
