I have multiple health issues to address. I started taking Effexor (an antidepressant) 2 months ago. I have been off for two weeks. I have since gained 10 lbs. I swim 2 hours a day plus an hour of cardio/strength. The medication completely took away my appetite. I never wanted to eat and if I did I'd feel sick. For the past two months I struggle to eat more than 2 salads, and an apple or yogurt a day. I realize this is unhealthy since I'm going to lack nutrients. I don't want to force myself to eat more because my weight gain is already becoming out of control.

Could this be a sign of hormone or thyroid problems? Maybe my body will repair itself. I know some people take a while to rid themselves of medications. I also have had a cold for a month and I am normally very healthy. I just saw my physician, so I hesistate to go back for a cold and weight gain problems. I hate to be a hypochondriac and complain. I just am aware that this is not normal, but what are they gonna do for me? Probably nothing and tell me to try and wait it out a little longer.
