Angry I ate cake at work today

I was just offered a slice of Italian zeppoli cake at work, and I accepted. Now all I've eaten today so far is a banana, 3 apples, and the slice of zeppoli. Is this gonna kill me? What should I eat for the rest of the day.

Also, what is the nutritional information on zeppolis??

I would count it as a sweet roll or pastry, for the rest of the day you should eat lunch and dinner.

Hi, Tiger

Well, first of all, I don't think that you're eating enough to begin with, which would worry me. Perhaps your coworkers offered the cake to you because they were worried that you aren't eating enough. I might suggest that you eat something with some protien, fats, etc. Of course, I have no idea what your dietary issues are, nor do I know what you need.

I think that a lot of people have an "all or nothing" mentality when it comes to a lot of things, and this can lead to unhealthy notions and behaviors. I think that it's perfectly fine to have one or two sweet things during the course of a day or two...it's just a matter of balancing this out with healthy things that are high in energy sustaining nutrients.

And if you normally don't indulge in anything, just go ahead and ignore the cake. Eat the rest of the day as if you didn't eat the cake at all. One piece of cake isn't going to kill you, maim you, or make you gain 20 pounds. If you eat healthy and reasonable amounts of calories every day, adding a piece of cake one day every once in a while isn't going to make a difference. Stressing about it, however, just might kill you.

Well said Kehorner, that's what I meant. Just because you indulge in something, that doesn't mean to cut back on your normal healthy meals. If you are still worried about eating too much, then add 10 or 15 minutes to your workout ... maybe.
