Here's what I do....
I have meat (like steak).
I have a salad with veggies added (with either low fat Thousand Island sauce or Salsa poured on top).
Then, for desert...applesauce. Yes, applesauce. I keep a jar of applesauce in the fridge. Other than that, I don't eat that much fruit other than a half a banana (with a small teaspoon of peanut butter on top of it, to get your vitamins) and applesauce. Too much consumption is just too much. One apple a day keeps the doctor away, and you won't wear down your teeth either. I hate eating full apples.
