Pretzels..some sort of snack

I absolutely love chips. I used to eat them all the time but I have been trying to eat healthy so it's the first thing I cut. I used to eat chips as a snack to munch on. Now I try to eat fruits, yogurt for a snack. I still have a craving for the "chip kind of stuff". I have been eating pretezels and triscuits (reduced fat) instead. Are these things just as bad as chips...any of chip/cracker type things I can eat at a moderate amount for a snack? Thanks.

Few things are as bad as chips because they are grease fried. The other sin of most of these snacks is an obscene amount of salt.

A GOOD choice is bald pretzels (no surface salt) if you can stand them.
Alas, for me, the taste of pretzels so much depends on that shovelful of crunchy salt .

you should keep the chips for the friday night cinema thingy... during your week you can have different stuff.. oh and, cravings can be real bad.. so just be carefull, k..

Yes, pretzels do have a lot of salt and no, it's not good for you at all. Here's why..

Your table salt is actually 97.5% sodium chloride and 2.5% chemicals such as moisture absorbents, and iodine. Dried at over 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, the excessive heat alters the natural chemical structure of the salt causing the potential for a myriad of health problems in your body.

Stay away from pretzels and chips, chips are actually toxic. If you want a nice snack to have when you feel like it, try almonds, cashews and other nuts (salt-free) or take a trip to the health food store and usually they have some pretty good tasting chip-like snacks without all the crap...
