Smile Off nights?

Some nights I eat really bad- like REALLY bad. I eat everything in sight and then I get really full and my stomach feels full and sometimes I get really bad stomach aches. I'm in very good shape and I work out with weights and do cardio pretty much everyday, so exercise is not a problem. But my question is what is the best approach for getting back on track after an "off night" when I have a night or day that I eat really bad. Last night I ate A LOT- 7 slices of pizza, chips, salsa, about 10 Oreos, a trail mix bar, 3 slices of toast, popcorn, and I ate so much I couldn't stop because I was hungry and a little stressed and tired.

Knowing fully well, personally, that one bad night isn't going to kill me, but what is the best way to get back on track after a night of eating like that? This morning I did the exercise bike for 32 minutes (as soon as I got up and didn't eat anything) and then I went for a walk before work for 25 minutes and I've eaten well so far (lots of fruit and stuff), but I still feel so full and my stomach looks "full" and I feel kind of gross.

I just wanted to know any tips to help me get back and also how long it takes, usually, to feel better after a night of bad eating.

Thanks so much for your support!

Re: Off nights?

Tigergolf....Just go back and eat your normal healthy diet and you'll be fine. The only people who noticed any immediate change in diet are diabetics, especially those with neuropathy. It takes time for the genes in your DNA to express themselves over the foods we eat .Even the program i've been following for yrs ''Body For Life'' allows a cheat day once a week.......

Re: Off nights?

I was just going to suggest the same thing. Give yourself 1 day off per week as in Body for Life. Although, in that program, you work out and eat right every other day.

Despite what you say, surely you can't have actually have genuinely been "hungry" after the first 2 or 3 items on that list! It's making me feel full just reading it.
However, I would still say the same as the others. Don't stress about it, just go back to your healthy eating and try to forget it. The more you dwell on it, the more power it will have over you. I would just say that the next time you start a binge like that, do something like make a list in advance of the things you're going to allow yourself to eat that night (don't write "everything in the house"!) and when you get to the end of the list, don't eat anything else. However badly you want to! Just a suggestion.
