| Re: what are some of the foods I can eat?
You should be able to have
1) 1-2 oz serving of nuts, cashews are the only high carb(high sugar) nut to avoid.
2) 1/2 cup serving of berries which are all very low, with whip cream or cool whip which is high fat but low in sugar.
3) Salad dressing like Italian, Blue cheese, oil and vinegar, some brands of Caesar dressing, or mayonaise. Thousand Island is full of sugar as is the Kraft coleslaw dressing.
4) Presidents choice makes great low carb catsup, low or zero carb syrup (great on whole wheat french toast) also it's hard to find but there is all kinds of low carb products out there like the Atkins bake mix which uses Soy protein Isolate to make an inadequate muffin etc lol. HOWEVER some may have Aspertame which you are avoiding!
5) cheese! You can bake it into crisps, melt it over seafood or eggs, put it on a ww cracker or eat it plain!
6) Some Thai food like Tom ka Gai or Panaange(sp?) both made with coconut milk, vegies and meat.
For snacks I make
1) tuna salad in a romaine lettuce boat
2) devilled eggs or egg salad (you can have ww bread so you're lucky but if you're trying to lose weight then more than 2 pieces a day will stop any w loss.)
3) a fun platter of deli meat, cheese, pickles, smoked salmon, olives, with a handful of ww crackers
4) homemade beef jerky (check store bought for sugar).
5) seafood and cheese stuffed baked mushrooms or green peppers
6) "3 layer jello" where I use the sugar free jello and make 3 diff layers letting it solidify between layers of course. Then I put it in a bowl with a handful of raspberries, pour cream over top and sprinkle with a little splenda and it's a wicked sweet and pretty snack. Yum! Will think of other ideas...
