Hi. I hate to disappoint you, but yes, sugar equals calories equals weight gain. The good news is though, you don't have to drink just plain water. Sugar-free kool-aid is one option, as well as the flavored low-cal drink mixes such as Crystal Lite. There is a water filter that also has the option of adding flavor to your water straight from the faucet. Also beware of artificial sweeteners, some scientist think that they confuse your body, and can contribute to weight gain. Keep all things in moderation. Good Luck!
