Lactose Intolerance

I am curious to find out if I could be intolerant of just cow's milk but not yogurt and cheese made from cow's milk.
I eat yogurt literally every single morning and have for at least 6 months and I eat cheese on a fairly regular basis, but I don't often drink milk. I recently bought a gallon of fat free skim milk for the holiday baking I have been doing and a glass sounded good, so I have had a couple glasses of milk since I bought it about a week ago.
Now, thinking back on my diet over the past week, I realize that is the only difference in my diet. I have been plagued with severe gas (both belching and farting) and yesterday, my belching got worse and smells like rotten eggs/very sulfurous. This morning I woke up with terrible diarrhea and I'm just trying to figure out if the milk could be the cause of my symptoms.
Nothing like this has ever happened to me before and I've never had a problem digesting dairy in the past, I just don't really love milk...its just one of those occasional cravings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yogurt contains bacteria that may have already broken the lactose into glucose and galactose, so it is less likely to give lactose intolerance problems than fresh milk does. The bacteria used in making cheese also breaks down and consumes the lactose.

If lactose is a problem and you want to drink fresh milk, you can take lactase enzyme supplements with the milk, or buy milk that has been treated with lactase enzymes.

I drink Lactaid when I get the craving, but I still get some gas from drinking it. Goat cheese works very well to satisfy the general desire as well.

my roomate had the same problems. she was not completely lactose intolerant but would receive the same symptoms when she ate dairy products in mass amounts. i would recommend to do it in moderation.

I've been wondering if I might be LI, too. I bought some Lactaid enzymes and have been taking one before I consume any dairy. Most of my dairy, comes in the form of non-fat yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese, low-fat shredded and hard cheeses, and low-fat ice cream. I also use fat-free milk in my cereal and oatmeal. After using up almost the entire box (30 tablets) of the Lactaid enzymes...I feel no difference. I'm still as gassy and bloated as I ever was. So...if the digestive enzymes aren't working, then what could be the problem? Could I still be lactose intolerant, even though the Lactaid doesn't appear to be helping at all? Is there anything else I can try to help ease the bloating and gas?
