Eating times of the day?

Hey,

I saw a recent documentary on the state of Humans health & eating habits, and it was said that Humans convert food at a more efficient rate in the Morning, than in the evening and we only eat our large meals at the times we do, due to work schedules. Their point was, that Humans should eat their "evening meal" in the morning (Have a higher calorific intake in the morning) and smaller meals in the evening.

They said go by the saying "Eat breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince and Dine like a pauper"

How do you all feel about this? Good advice....rubbish?

thanks.

Re: Eating times of the day?

Oronare,

This is a difficult question because the answer, in my opinion, can't be that it's definitley "good" or "bad". It depends on the person and the circumstances. In general, the King/Prince/pauper theory has some merit.

However, if you look at Okinawans (known to be the healthiest and longest lived people in the world), they eat every meal until they are 80% full.

Most likely they would object to "eating breakfast like a king", whatever that means (it needs to be defined). Some people might take it that it's okay to stuff yourself or indulge in high calorie foods.

Anyway, I'm in favor of eating every meal with a little restraint; I try to feel satisfied without feeling full.
