Hi All.. I asked my friend if he can have yoghurt and runny custard , yes.. but not all fruits.. ,the fibre in them coud be tricky
he can't swallow food properly as he has only 1/2 his tongue,..
it's amazing how we don't think about eating , we just DO it !!
He likes steak and kidney moullied up , can manage that,
Ripe mashed bananas, possibly , he would have to make sure there was plenty of fluid with them as he could choke ..
he does enjoy a wine, but needs to be careful,
( not of the wine;.. of the glass.. )
he knocked it over his computer after having 72 silicone needles and novacaine ( numbing) into the scar tissue on his arm & leg at the hospital where they'd taken grafts..was woozy after it was done.. ..
he can have runny porridge, but doesn't like it due to too much given when he was a kid.. he was at boarding school !! Don't blame him..
he did say because he's on his own he doesn't feel like cooking so much, but he knows he needs to put on some weight .. 6'2''..and skinny.. as
I hope to remedy that.. but his Mum does give him stuff he puts in the freezer ..
the refried beans maybe not, He can't have peas either..
it's because he can't swallow properly, which if you think about the actions he hasn't got a long enuff tongue and our tongue actually touches the roof of mouth when you swallow..
he's only finding his tastebuds again,
so I might make that trip to a restaurant.. a wee bit of soft cheesecake might do him good.,
I'll have the base.. . and he can eat the soft bit.. ;-)
well thank u all for your help,... I've learnt a lot, and still learning..
Gonna study recipe books at the weekend..
Cheers.. CB
