All I want are sweets?

For at least the past three months I have wanted to eat nothing but chocolate candy bars. I could care less about regular food but do eat it once in awhile. As of 3 months ago I had lost twenty pounds. I have been losing my hair for over 6 months. What is going on? I am not pregnant.

It's likely the result of too many chocolate candy bars and not enough real whole food. To maintain normal body functions you need a variety of nutrients that you won't get from candy.

It could be that you would eventually experience hair loss anyway, even with a good diet, but not eating a good diet could speed things up. Good nutrition will hopefully slow down the aging process.

Re: All I want are sweets?

Ah you know we must resist temptations sometimes.
We have like 100 diffrents food for feeding a human.
And two of them are over tasty.
two of them have a taste far higer that other food.
One of them is sweet, sugar.
A low poison. Very bad for the body.
Eating two sweet thinks a week it's no problems.
A good chocolate cake and a ice cream once a week in a nice cofee house.
Very good for the mood.

But not more. I like sweet also. but i resist. I eat like Two good brands sweet a week. not more.

Sugar damage everything. Damage the teeth. Teeth decay is mainly due to sugar.
It damage also the taste system.
If you eat too much sweet, you can't taste very well your food after.
Sugar makes fat also.
Just sweet food sugar, makes your metabolism very low. You can't resist things.

when i m at home after work, i m always looking in the fridge for something sweet.
If i go to play video games with my neighbour or football after work i don't think about this sweet.
Just being outside and working or having good time outside and i forget this temptation.

Their is so much sweet on sale nowaday. I mean Everywhere, shops, supermakets, cornershops, advertisement on TV. This things attracted our mind.
Governmant should stop this poisoning advertisement and temptation process.
It's Very bad for the population health all this poison sugar.

People who like to help the humans, taught me about health including sugar.

Re: All I want are sweets?

Thank you so much for your comment! I really did appreciate it. You just reminded me that I am strong and able to do other things than give into my addictions. Not only sugar but a whole variety of things. I have been having trouble going outside and just have to make myself do it sometimes. I hate sitting in the house looking out the window watching the beautiful day pass me by. You take care now. Sincerely, searchin

Re: All I want are sweets?

I agree with everything that has been said. But just keep in mind that if the craving goes beyond anything you can control, there might be other problems. For instance, if an individual craves a certain food, let's say cheese, and no matter how much is eaten, it's still craved. Other foods fill the hunger but always craving cheese. Then that is caused by a certain enzyme deficiency. You're eating it but your body doesn't know it, because the enzyme isn't there to digest that particular type of food, and you keep craving it.

Re: All I want are sweets?

Hey girl,

Have thought about asking your Dr if you could be depressed? One of the symptoms of depression can be a huge craving for sweets, it has something to do with the way sugar interacts with your serotonin levels. Eating a lot of sugar can be a way of self medicating even though you might not know that. One way I know that my depression is coming back is that it always starts off with huge sugar and cheese cravings, usually before my mood goes down.

I am on effexor, prozac, and abilify, levthyroxine. Yes, I still feel depressed... I am also on morphine but I do not take it regularly because of the potential for addiction. What about diabetes? Kidney's?

Re: All I want are sweets?

Actually, I have never heard that a craving for sweets could be related to depression. My doctor is going to do some blood tests next visit I just wanted to get some opinions before I go. Thank you, Sincerely, searchin

Re: All I want are sweets?

So it could be something more than this, but do you eat red meat?
I started a lean meat/fruit and other healthy stuff diet (scientific...right? hah)
and all I wanted to eat was SUGAR.
I ask this because you said you lost about 20lbs.

I ate a cheeseburger with cottage cheese on the side today for the first time in a few weeks, and my cravings DISAPPEARED. A craving for sweets usually means that you are deficient in something else. Or depressed.

Best wishes.

Since you're avoiding actual food, you're losing out on vital nutrients. This is leading to hair loss. Ensure that you eat a balanced diet. This ensure an all round development of your health.

Re: All I want are sweets?

I wanted to chime in here about nutrition and diet. I really recommend "superfoods" if you do not wish to eat a lot of food. Personally, I don't like to be eating a lot, so I eat a lot of superfoods. Go online and search, such as on google and there are a lot of ideas.

Re: All I want are sweets?

My advice, you said in your post you lose your hairs,
did you do a diet? then in this case : don't do diet!!!

You want to lose weight, very good decision.

But don't do diet.
Eat a large portion of food.
But eat healthy.
It's difficult to talk about healthy food.
People got it wrong nowaday.
They think eating 100 grammes of salad it's healthy.
100 grammes or 200 grammes of salad it's not healthy at all.
You are not nutrite enough. Your body get hurt.

Healthy means large portion of good natural things.
No salads.
a large patatoes, a large tomatoes, a large carrot, a large apple. 2 eggs.
3 meals, four times a day.
and you eat others veggies the others days.

and after the work we must do our best to keep the mood high.
activities, passion, playing, laughing with friends.
reading books magazine, net artikels, that keep the mood high.
The body change, adapt, transform.
hope i can help.

Re: All I want are sweets?

I suffer from depression. And yes, sugar definately raises your seratonin levels. Last week, I restricted my sugar intake. I felt very irritable and listless all week. Saturday, I broke down and had a couple of donuts. My energy level went thru the roof! I had lots of energy and actually got a lot accomplished over the weekend. Without that sugar, I probably would have spent the entire weekend in bed.

Re: All I want are sweets?

Hi there! I read in a book that when a person craves sugar that person may have a health problem caused by Candida Albicans. This organism feeds on sugar. In my opinion it may be best not to give in to the cravings for sweet. If there is that type of craving perhaps some fresh pineapple might be better.

Re: All I want are sweets?

I hear yea, it is a problem for me, tho not like it used to be, to want ice cream. not pie or candy bars do zone bars count as a chocolate bar?

I have to reply to sugar is bad. sugar is not bad it is highly oxidative, like rocket fuel which the brain needs and the other cells need in order to be able to compeltly metabolise fatty acids.

the problem is when the insulin is not working well (for various reasons) and the glucose levels stay to high. then when it reaches 140 plus for too long it starts to stick to things. it turns out that calcium and vita d are essential for cellular communication and when you lack this and enough healthy cholesterol (you can have lots of cholesterol and not be healthy) it being a antioxidant and all you cant transport glucose to the mitrochondria a cell would have to be pretty stupid to let in gluocose when it is so highly oxidative and will damage the cytoplasm without that lipid raft.

myself personally I have been trying all kinds of things to curb sugar cravings, lower gi foods, coconut oil, protein drinks etc. so far I have been able to reduce sugar cravings but not enough to keep from eating ice cream. just crave the stuff at times. not all the time but to much to please me. used to be alot worse.

Re: All I want are sweets?

Sugar is very bad.
It's a low poison.
People get addict to it.
That’s one of our century main issue. People have a fat body because of it,
and have difficulties for finding partners. Because of sugar.
Sugar should be hunted down from our society.

It has a taste issue. A low drug effect.
The taste of sugar is too high compare to other natural food.
When you eat often sugar things, then after, other food don't have taste
anymore.
Because your taste adapt to this "too high taste".
Your taste now feel something only when you eat sugar things.
You don't feel taste pleasure anymore when you eat normal healthy food.

It's a low drug, a poison.
People are fat because of sugar. Oversleeping makes fat also.
Cooking with oil doesn't make fat at all. cooking with oil is very healthy and
tasty.

You can notice that our nowadays sugar, is not a natural things.

But we must enjoy the live at the same time also.
One chocolate cake, one ice cream a week it's no problems at all. On the contrary it’s very good. No
more.
People who like to help the humans, taught me that.

Re: All I want are sweets?

Hi it is said 6 teaspoons lower the immune system for 4-5 hours. This occurs because the white blood cells do not eat up as many germs in the same amount of time as they would have without the sugar. If a persons immune system lowers this allows a person to catch the flu, colds, viruses, bacteria, fungal infections etc. during this time. The symptoms may not start right away because it takes time for the pathogens to multiply and then cause enough toxin to build up to cause symptoms.

One doctor theorizes that the sugar may make them sticky so they can't move as fast. She says that if a person has the amount of sugar in a shake you might as well go home and go to bed!
Another author says that sugar clogs the system. In my opinion it would be far preferable to wait until supper time and have a peice of fruit if cravings occur. Self control would be good to develop anyway for the sake of health in my opinion. Snacking will just wreck health of stomach, needed for the health of the rest of the body including the brain.
