If your son is high functioning, then I assume he's still able to chew his food. (He's not an old man with loose dentures.) :-)
I'm not sure I understand what the attraction is to drinking one's nutrition. I would just cut up the banana and pineapple and put it in a dish with some of the sugar-free plain yogurt. Chewing your food is helpful as it provides time for saliva to mix with the food. This is the first part of the digestive process. And it tends to slow things down so there's less of a tendancy to overindulge. Also, it would be advantageous to include a wide variety of fruits and berries. In other words, change things around from time to time.
