Worried About Sudden Weight Loss
Hi. I have been brought down by the flu since Monday, and have been spending 2 days off school so far. I am 14 years old, but I am quite short and incredibly light for my age. I am about 153cm tall and only about 37kg, but since I've had this virus I've had a severe loss of appetite, and this has brought my weight down to 34.3kg in a matter of days. I'm getting increasingly concerned that this will damage my health, and I'm also concerned that I won't gain any weight when I recover from the bug. I've been living off ginger based foods and plain foods like crackers and gingerbread men. I ate about half a banana and I have been drinking water and ginger tea (mainly to combat my stomach acid related nausea), but before I had the virus I didn't gain weight at a high rate, only about 1 kilogram in half a year, although my height has been increasing fairly normally. Is there any way I can increase my weight at a higher rate? Thanks.
EDIT: And by the way, I don't think I have anorexia nervosa because I'm not obsessed about dieting or worried about my appearance, I want to eat, I just sometimes physically can't, and when I am REALLY hungry I can usually eat normally.
