High Cholesterol

I am 54 yrs old. My cholesterol is borderline high. I thought I knew how to eat for this problem, but after some research, I realize I need some help. Does anyone know of a good book of recipies? I saw the Mayo clinic has one. It is fairly expensive. The Dr. never told me how much cholesterol I can eat a day. My total is 233. My LDL is 163. I have a chronic illnes that keeps me from excerzising. I spend a lot of time on a recliner.

Thanks!

Well sorry to hear about your issues.

I to have high cholesterol total 262 without meds with just a 10mg of Crestor it drops to 148 over a hundred points! I hate to take meds so I knew I had a pcoming good check and 3 month prior I bought just about ever supplement to lower it and took them and exercise 20 min 4 days a week just tread milled nothing crazy
So when I went for the blood work it dropped to 242 geezs what a waste 20 points granted i did not lose any weight but anyways I have found nothing that has help me
So I take the pill been on it for 10yrs I have tried a variety of diets and supplements over the years my dr of the last 5yrs just looks at me and say just give it up and take the meds because he takes the same dose as I say its hereditary.

Good luck

Re: High Cholesterol

Try taking 3000 mg of fish oil tablets each day. That should help you a lot. I was taking Simvastatin 20 mg and started taking the 3000 mg of fish oil. I just stop taking the Simvastatin recently and my cholesterol is still holding less than 100. Loosing weight will help too, but I know how hard that can be. One day at a time.

Good Luck
