Can someone help me make sense of my cholesterol readings?
I used to have high cholesterol, but have been eating healthy and working out for the last year and a half. My doctor said that now everything is perfect, but I notice that two of my readings are in the "abnormal" category on the printout of my blood work. He kind of has a history of leaving things unexplained, so I thought I'd get a second opinion. Here are my numbers:
Chol: 132 mg/dL
Trig: 48 mg/dL
HDL-C: 53 mg/dL
LDL-C: 74 mg/dL
VLDL: 10 mg/dL
LDL/HDL: 1.40 ratio (in the abnormal category with an "L")
TChol/HDL: 2.5 ratio (in the abnormal category with an "L")
Does the "L" mean that these ratios are abnormally low, and is that a bad thing? Someone please help me unravel the cholesterol mystery.
