I had my Gallbladder removed 9 months ago. At first everything was great. No Heartburn attacks. Now I have constant chest pain at the breast level and it will not go away with antiacid treatment. I am also on Nexium. I do have a mild case of reflux. My doc does not think it is heart related. Has anyone experienced this pain after gallbladder removal. This is driving me crazy.

Hi there. I had a diagnosis of GERD back in 1996 when my GB started acting up; had the GB removed in 1997. Heartburn/chest pain/reflux worsened to the point that I developed Barrett's esophagus by 1999 (even on Prilosec). So I think your reflux can worsen after GB removal.

Keep an eye on the esophagus to make sure the GERD doesn't progress. Maybe Nexium is not the right one for you? Talk to your GI doctor about another med.

Hi there - I had my gallbladder removed 6 months ago and have had awlful rib, side, back and chest pain
(right side only) for 3 months. I am on aciphex - Doc says if it does not work maybe we will have to try regulan (sp)??? Time will tell I suppose!!

You said you have pain in your chest at the breast level.Is on one side mainly or both sides?Could you describe the pain and the duration?Gee i hope its not the same pain im having,because you going to have the dickens of a time trying to find out what it is

It is across my chest. It has subsided some since my post, but it is basically an ache not pressure nor reallya burning pain. When it is there it is there 100% of the time.
